Yo! We’re taking a quick, or not so quick look at Dying Light! We can’t remember who sent us the code, but thanks!

I hope the French Wrench just becomes J’acque The Magic Talking Axe from Unforgotten Realms.

I never played Dead Island. The RPG elements looked interesting to me, but I never really liked most of the other stuff I saw. I like the look of this though. Can’t go wrong with decent parkour.

I stopped liking Dead Island after the initial first room, solely because I walked outside, spied an oar attached to a lifeboat, and found that I couldn’t yank it down and use it as a melee weapon for “reasons”….was like, fuck this game, not letting every item be a weapon….Dead Rising got that shit right at least.

Holy shit that 1080 60 FPS looks GOOD

“Is that a bunny rabbit?”
Thanks to his heavy drug use and his trip to Japan, Pat is hallucinating bunnies.

Does no one else get severe motion sickness from these first person free running games? As beautiful as those fucking graphics are, that camera movement is just goddamned sickening.
January 18, 2015 at 6:26 am
No because i’m strong.
January 17, 2015 at 9:54 pm
At first I was like, “Why doesn’t he have a stamina bar for running”.
But then I was like, “Oh wait that’s Sonic”.
So all is cool, I guess…?

This is one of the only game videos the Zaibatsu have done where the game has looked good enough for me to not actually want to listen to them.
January 18, 2015 at 9:25 am
This *does* look really good, but I think Far Cry has really exhausted the open world + combat + crafting thing, at least for me. The mobility is the touch I would want, and it’s naturally amazing, but the rest…zombies, cross stuff off on the map, level up in a menu…
It feels like it came too late to make a difference
January 18, 2015 at 1:57 pm
This is BOMB ASS SHIT
January 18, 2015 at 6:52 pm
I would love to see you guys do an LP of this, if that would be possible.
January 18, 2015 at 7:42 pm
warm bodies wasn’t that bad!
January 19, 2015 at 4:30 pm
The using skills to level them up is a fairly old concept. The oldest one that I personally know, of that not only had leveling up skills but a skill cap (x number of total skill points) which would determine how your character played was Ultima Online which came out in 1997.

“…a sauce, that you LATHER onto your mashed potatoes…”
phew, looks like Japan has rubbed off on Pat haha (pun intended)
January 21, 2015 at 3:40 pm
Nah Pat I just read on wiki that the console versions will be locked at 30FPS to deliver a smooth, 1080p experience. IDK if that changed in the last 5 minutes but who knows.

Looks purty good.
I also liked Dead Island far more than it deserved, and completed it. Not a bad game, but it definitely had some flaws. I’ll be interested in seeing how this feels once you level your parkour up to the max.
Anyone get the feeling we’re all really here for the parkour and the visuals, and nothing else? Game wise, I mean. Love the Zaibatsu.

Grand Theft Auto does the whole “Do the thing to get better at it” thing pretty well IMO. that being said I’ve only ever played Vice City and San Andreas.
