Jesus fuck, you too on TLOU? I don’t get it.
I played it and all I felt it ever was, was an average third person shooter with stupid AI, an extremely predictable story, an annoying sidekick, and the supposed puzzles weren’t memorable other than LADDERS EVERYWHERE.
I just don’t get it.
December 23, 2014 at 10:06 pm
Shut up Mr. Haru. You were not brought upon this world to “get it”.
December 23, 2014 at 10:22 pm
Well I mean there’s not much to not get. They all gave their reasons to why it’s on their top 10, that’s kind of the point.
December 24, 2014 at 6:35 am
Well, you said it twice already, you just don’t get it. As Liam said, the gameplay isn’t anything revolutionary, it’s just polished to (near) perfection. It’s the narration of the story and the rich characters that pushed the score to 9/10 or even 10/10 for many people, like me. (I literally finished this game yesterday, it’s imo a 10/10, and I haven’t even touched the multiplayer yet). If you din’t like the story, if you don’t feel the emotions, then you’re not gonna like the game as much and treat it just as a regular third person action (but slow paced) game. It’s their own top 10 list, it means that THEY consider this game to be good, not that EVERYBODY will enjoy it.
I don’t see anything appealing in the Wonderful 101, other than the humor. But if they like it, good for them.

I don’t know if you saw that I’m compiling a list of your guys’ recommendations, but thank you for formatting your top 10 the way you did. It makes listing what you liked and didn’t like that much easier. The Pros and Cons breakdown was awesome.
(the incomplete list for anyone who would find it useful: http://bit.ly/1rg11oj )

Super Best Liamcast!
As expected, Liam uses Cena’s music.
December 23, 2014 at 10:41 pm
What do you mean? Of course Cena would use his own theme song
December 23, 2014 at 11:12 pm
An hour long? I dig it 😀
December 24, 2014 at 12:36 am
Of course Liam is the only one that has licensed music in his video. lol
December 24, 2014 at 12:52 am
Oh yeah… I still haven’t played Soul Sacrifice. That looked good as hell. Thanks for the reminder!

three minutes in and this video is already WAY better then Woolie’s, not for the content (which was OK) but for the lack of the shitty numbering animation. i couldn’t finish Woolie’s because after two of those title cards(?) i didn’t care what the rest of the video had. honestly, Pat’s was better. at least he put the time in to have a not annoying sound/voice for the different games.

No love for Strike Suit Zero, no love for Shadowrun Returns. Disappointing. Oh well. There were tons of great games in 2013!
December 24, 2014 at 6:53 am
Awww Liam, where’s your Rising Superstar charisma go today?
Maybe it speaks to an insecurity of mine when I don’t like people being sincere…

“Liam’s Top 10 Games to Nitpick and Drone On and On About of 2013.”
Dude, brevity. It’s pretty rad. Try it.
December 24, 2014 at 9:19 pm
A fucking hour Liam! Damn you, you beautiful bastard why do I love you?!
December 24, 2014 at 9:20 pm
Surprised masou kishin made a list. That game was pretty good but I think it got eclipsed by the mainline super robot wars game, z3. Mainly cause of the licensed anime franchises in that one as compared to the original characters in msaou kishin, just can’t beat the nostalgia factor of Evangelion, Gundam Wing, Big O,Full Metal Panic and Gurren Lagann all in one game. It’s also hilarious how you can tell how uch they valued each anime franchise by the quality of their attack animations, they must’ve spent half their animation budget on the last giga drill breaker,

Amazing ending hahaha, fucking love liam
December 26, 2014 at 8:06 am
Why does Liam catch so much shit?
He’s clearly the most intelligent and insightful of the four, with the most researched opinions, and has facts to back up his opinions.
Sure, he’s a bit too into all the anime bullshit, but his views of the game industry are generally spot-on.

Hmmm can’t say that I was a huge fan of this top 10. I usually really like Liam but wasn’t feeling it with this list. Not so much the games in it (because that is purely personal and arguing that would be semantics) but more how he explained his choices. Besides a few (like TLOU, 101, revengeance) a lot of them left me wondering “and you picked this game why?”. He didn’t seem that into them, was mostly going on about the mistakes they made etc. He doesn’t need to proclaim his love for them from the rooftops with a bullhorn but like I said; with some of them I was left with a feeling of “why”.
