Sorry to reply to my own post, but…
Really, Pat? James Joyce the American author? Come on now.

Never heard of Cyrobots, but if it involves fighting robots it’s cool with me.
October 17, 2014 at 9:22 pm
Awwww shit, it’s been a while since we’ve had fighting mechs.

Gear Fighter Dendoh is, I think, the anime Woolie was thinking of, with the two kids piloting one robot.
October 17, 2014 at 10:29 pm
Probably my favorite recent episode. Pat ranting about Eva, Woolie yelling for The Principality (Sieg it).

Man I love Tech Romancer. Just a correction, Pulsion is an Ultraman homage while Twinzam is Getter Robo.

Gourai is actually more akin to Gilgazamune from Heavy Armor Dragonar. Which are both actually real things and not something I just made up.
Pulsion is a riff on Evangelion’s relationship to Ultraman, with a free Voltekka thrown in as a bonus.
Rafaga is most definitely a variable fighter with the serial number filed off, which is funny, because the one doing the filing is Shoji Kawamori, who designed the Macross mecha in the first place.

All Zeke sympathizers are vain and have mommy issues. This is an undeniable fact.

Feddie Scum is just jealous of our sweet genes and superior technology.

Who would even fund the construction of a giant Cyber Akuma/Gouki? Did Gouki have to sign off to have his likeness used in a giant robut?

“Goldbricking, also known in computer-related tasks as cyberslacking, generally refers to an employee doing less work than he or she should. A modern example is staff who use their work internet access for personal reasons while maintaining the appearance of working, which can lead to inefficiency. The term originates from the confidence trick of applying a gold coating to a brick of worthless metal – while the worker may appear industrious on the surface, in reality they are less valuable.”

When they were talking about newtypes in gundam I kept thinking new-half, like, why are trans-people good at piloting mechs?
Just as a lark they should play Deadliest Warrior: The game

Oh god, Matt mentioning One Must Fall. I forgot all about that. The nostalgia is real. Such a bad game.

Hearing you guys say “What time did we watch episode 26 of Gurren Lagann?” “I can’t imagine going to school after that shit!” was just too much. Had to watch that episode before coming back. Oh well, time to watch fisticuffs!

The problem with Newtypes is that in the original series there where Earth born people that never went to space showing hints of having those powers.
