I sure hope the splattering involved in this video isn’t of the ropey variety.

This reminds me of my gynaecology internship. Only much less gross and mentally traumatizing.

Oh Jeez, I’ve just made a profile for this site and I’m really nervous. This is the first time I’ve actually considered the possibility of someone from the Zaibatzu might actually read my comment… And I’ve also forgot how to spell Zaibatzu!

Ambiguously evil mask that gives you super powers if you feed it blood? A need to give yourself up to this potentialy satanic entity in order to save the woman you love? Pat’s mom? This game has it all.

Holy Shit I was just learning about Metris, SI prefixes just today in math class, on fucking November third. Yottas and Yoctos and Zettas and Zeptos, all of that shit. Heh… Deca.

Friggin’ love this game. Beat it on all 3 difficulties.
Stack health up first.
Splatter Siphon is godlike. It helps you break out of rough spots where enemies surround you. Plus, if you have a limb severed, it regrows it.
Run + weak attack is Pimp Hand Strong. Stuns and is a great combo set up.
Using the rage mode is a waste of meter. Using the EX specials are way better use of meter.
Smaller and weak enemies can be insta-killed with grab most of the time.

Did you know that Steve Blackman got the martial arts gimmick after he started doing tae kwon do and eskrima as part of his physical therapy after a double whammy of dysentery and malaria he contracted while wrestling in South Africa? He was bedridden for about a year and nearly died.

I HATED the new Splatterhouse game. I hated the change in tone from the genuinely disturbing older games to the new one, which was cartoony in its animation style and character design by comparison. And speaking of character design, talk about generic.
I hated the shift in tone from personal to “the world.” In the old games, it was all about saving your family (though the son came later, I know). It felt like, “my family is my life. Even if I win, but I lose them, it would be a fate worse than death for me.” But in the new one, they put in nude pictures of Rick’s fiancee/wife, turning her into an object, so it felt more like he was trying to save his booty call, not his soul mate. Then they threw in a “save the world” storyline that really killed the personal feel.
As for Jim Cummings, it’s his life and his career. But it was REALLY hard for me to listen to the voice of Tigger using constant profanity. Also, the mask was written like some kind of prancing psycho that made light of everything; I far preferred the simple, controlling characterization from the old games that didn’t talk much and preyed on your fears.
The old games, IMO, were just classier. The new one felt tacky and generic. It got so bad for me that I just wasn’t able to finish it.
