Chapter VI: LUCK

Pat’s sullen anger over that accidental backstab pleases me considerably.

As of this episode, Woolington is confirmed for membership in the lineage of Lucky Ted.

That’s what he gets for babbying woolie with the drake sword

He lost the right to complain when he told Woolie to use the Drake Sword. For reference, with Woolie’s current stats, that morning star he was using would do comparable damage to the Drake sword when one-handed at +15. Normally he’d have higher strength to get scaling damage from that, but since he’s focusing Endurance I don’t expect him to get above 20 Str any time soon. Even with that much, he’d probably need it close to +10 to get close to the Drake Sword’s damage. That is unbelievably powerful to use in a section of the game where it expects your weapon to be +0. Pat is 100% wrong about it being game breaking, and one-shotting that boar was a perfect example of it. As was breezing through a black knight fight and treating Balder knights like trash mobs. It’s making things boring!

Alright, that’s a lot worse than Pat made it sound. Jeez.

Failure is less interesting than success. Killing things and progressing is more entertaining than dying and producing stagnant content. Killing that boar with the ridiculous unintentional backstab and having Pat freak out about it makes for a much more unique and memorable moment in a video than getting charged by the boar and dying ever could.

Failure is always more interesting than success. It’s also funnier. Cheers to future failures of super best friends.

Woolie’s a big boy, I’m sure he could have handled himself without the fat memesword. Part of the joy of watching other people play Dark Souls is seeing how they react to the same sort of challenges that surprised you and fucked you up when you first encountered them, and whilst this LP’s still great, the Drake Sword somewhat stifles that aspect. Not to mention the potential to fuck up the character’s build because in the long term, stat scaling beats flat damage every day, and once the drake sword stops being so good, without points in strength or dexterity (or int or faith), you can easily be in a bad situation.

That backstab was glorious, it being accidental combined with Pat’s anger = 10/10.

“What was that about?”
Bloodborne Lore in a nutshell, y’all.

I’m PISSED OFF ABOUT THAT BACKSTAB
January 4, 2017 at 7:04 pm
SIT AT BONFIRES. SITTTT
I feel like you do. Though, I will say, Woolie’s a very experienced Souls player now. He kind of doesn’t need to take breaks as often.

As it turns out, Woolington is the true Lucky Ted.

So Pat, I love you, I love Woolie, I love everyone here, and I hope Matt and Liam feels better, even if Liam is legit gone.
So try not to take this personally, but FUCK YOU SO HARD. WHY DID YOU TELL WOOLIE TO USE THE DRAKE SWORD? YOU’RE TURNING THIS PLAYTHROUGH INTO A WET NOODLE PAT. THE DRAKE SWORD AND PYROMANCER IS SUPER EASY MODE, WHY ARE YOU ENCOURAGING THIS? WE ARE WAITING FOR WOOLIE TO GET FUCKED, NOT TO WATCH HIM BLAZE THROUGH THE GAME AS A GOLDEN GOD OF LORDRAN.
By the way, you’ve been exceptionally wrong this episode. I love it.
Also keep up the great work Woolie.
