October 16, 2014 at 3:12 pm
YAY more dark souls! my life needed more dragonslayer in it today! wait… whats he doing…. NOOOOO PUTTING ON PUNCH GLOVES!!! NOOOOOOOOO
October 16, 2014 at 3:24 pm
Just beast the entire DLC yesterday. Lets see how casul Woolie and Pat are 😀
October 16, 2014 at 3:40 pm
Oh my, Pat and Woolie are very casul
October 16, 2014 at 3:42 pm
Cannot recognize the death pit can be made easier by using the explody guys to blow up so many of the enemies there!
November 14, 2014 at 9:27 pm
Not “casul” enough to misspell “casual”, and think that doing it more than once makes it a “thing”.
January 24, 2015 at 10:49 pm
It’s definitely a thing.
October 16, 2014 at 3:30 pm
Pat doesn’t recognize that the sword sparks when it hits walls and floors. If you can break a barrel in one swing, and spark at the same time, the powder explodes.
October 16, 2014 at 3:41 pm
To him, it’s a bug. If they cannot understand something, it’s a bug.
October 16, 2014 at 6:44 pm
it’s actually a damage threshold I believe, but you could be right as well.
October 17, 2014 at 12:28 am
With the barrel guys, striking them will cause them to explode. Shooting them not so much. May be due to the sparks that come up when attacking with weapons
October 17, 2014 at 11:17 pm
What gets me is this is exactly what happens to the barrels in the valley of the lost giant where you have to blow up the barrels to break through the “hidden wall”, so there is precedence in the game for it.
October 16, 2014 at 3:44 pm
Wow, this episode was painful to watch. I know this was recorded a while back but that room is easier when you get the barrel guys to drop in. When they explode they take off massive chunks of health on those enemies, especially the big iron guy. Luckily for me I had a Fire Longbow the first time I did this so I was able to cheese almost the entire room out before I dropped in. But you didn’t even need that to cheese the big guy because it shoots fire out from its shoulders. Alluring Skulls are also really good here as they distract the lesser enemies.
Strategic thinking guys. If you’re given time to examine a room like this before you enter it can save you time and effort, not to mention patience.
October 16, 2014 at 3:46 pm
1. Caestus guys?
2. Hitting the door isn’t the ‘cannon’ way to break it. You’re just taking advantage of video games. There is a space in the bars and you can shoot the barrels from another spot.
3. You’re supposed to use the barrel guys to blow up that room and make it way easier
October 17, 2014 at 1:52 am
Charging the Woolie cannon……
October 16, 2014 at 4:35 pm
Would’ve been less of a hassle if you used the barrels against them
October 16, 2014 at 4:52 pm
What was Pat talking about during those cut parts? Both times you just caught the tail end of the thought and both times it was pretty random.
October 16, 2014 at 4:56 pm
This game-play is depressing me.
October 16, 2014 at 5:00 pm
There are totally points where locking on makes things way harder for yourself. Even more so in Dark Souls 1. Pat might have beaten the game multiple times, but he made it needlessly harder on himself because of his OCD tendencies.
October 16, 2014 at 5:21 pm
Pat, the guys exploded because Woolie hit the wall too, that made a sparkle, if you make a sparkle when you hit barrels they will explode.
October 16, 2014 at 5:25 pm
Well, remember that when your sword strikes the ground it creates a little spark. That’s why swords that don’t hit the ground or walls doesn’t ignite the barrels. It’s actually pretty clever
October 16, 2014 at 5:33 pm
Sometimes it’s really hard to watch Woolie play. Cringeworthy, even.
And then I remember that laughing at his mistakes are completely fine.
Know what I mean? See what I mean? PERFECT.
P.S. Drop you shield.
October 16, 2014 at 5:41 pm
I’m guessing this was recorded before VaatiVidya’s videos on this DLC, otherwise I don’t think Pat would have claimed bullshit on that illusory wall. Also, you should have used the barrel guys to clear that room. THAT’S why those big guys spit fire. You’ll notice that they are often in the same area as lots of barrels/barrel guys. And lastly, hitting the door to blow up those barrels is the bullshit way of doing it. You’re supposed to shoot them from the other side, where there’s a gap in the bars.
October 16, 2014 at 5:44 pm
Math time with Pat and Woolie!! ::goes and cries in a corner::
October 16, 2014 at 5:54 pm
I get that they edit these down for time but it does feel like we are missing out on some cool conversations. At the end you just drop in right in the middle of a convo.
October 16, 2014 at 5:55 pm
Killing the Giant King in the past is the reason the Last Giant goes berserk when you fight him, because you were the one who defeated him.
October 16, 2014 at 6:54 pm
I really want woolie to just two hand his sword, he keeps blocking. Blocking in this game is a crutch.
General Rule of thumb, if it’s bigger than you, you should roll it’s attacks, not block.
October 16, 2014 at 7:28 pm
I agree, though I do find myself in the tendency of making characters who would prefer to dodge of block. But even for the ones who do block, yeah, bigger = roll, smaller = block
October 16, 2014 at 7:11 pm
My favorite parts were when pat would be talking about something random after it would cut away to a fast forward. “And that’s the poop that ruined Thanksgiving for everybody”
“then the vegetarian pulled out a knife and I was like “thats not even my hat, man”
October 16, 2014 at 7:30 pm
I really do wish I knew what they were talking about prior.
October 16, 2014 at 7:26 pm
cant wait for when matt and pat play evil within
October 16, 2014 at 10:08 pm
Sometimes I get completely lost on the thought that Woolie has been playing for about 20-25 hours with the sword by now, without counting all the edited footage, yet he’s still missing what his Sword’s hit-range is.
October 16, 2014 at 11:04 pm
I wonder if the game accounts for the sparks that the greatsword throws when hitting things
October 16, 2014 at 11:49 pm
Wow this episode felt short but it’s almost 30 minutes!
October 17, 2014 at 1:50 am
I would talk mad shit about how badly Woolie is getting smacked around, but I was ~50 SL higher at this point in the game, so yeah…keep at it, Woolz, you’re making good progress.
October 17, 2014 at 9:52 am
You guys need to drop everything, start playing Crown of the Ivory King RIGHT NOW, and get the Bone Fist. Then burn an ascetic at the starting bonfire and go get a second one. If you’re going to use fists, that is the only fist in the game. Canon.
Seriously, though, why doesn’t Woolie try the claws? I’m not saying one is better than the other, but it would match his role play. UNLESS Pat hasn’t told him.
Pat, if you’re Woolie’s friend, you’ll tell him about the claws. And if you’re OUR friend, you’ll tell him about the Bone Fist.
October 17, 2014 at 3:12 pm
That sweet, sweet dodge without even seeing it coming.
Woolie, I’m so proud of you.
October 18, 2014 at 12:41 am
First time here loving the playthrough. Also that jump you can’t make, you really can make it i did it today, but saves you to fight those iron dudes.
here a present https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMU41taZJLw
October 22, 2014 at 12:20 pm
Pat doesn’t free ball confirmed. He briefs it.
January 11, 2015 at 8:16 pm
Want to know something awesome? Whips go through walls and objects, so you can kill that possessed archer at 10:30. Whips also make the Gutter and Gulch much easier because of their range and ability to swipe multiple statues through everything.. I infuse one with fire and use it to light the oil puddles (yes, you can light the wallmasters on fire and never aggro them) in Black Gulch, too. If they didn’t have pathetic, buggy durability they would be great items.
January 6, 2017 at 5:44 pm
I know this video is a few years old, but they could have climbed down the ladder to aggro the small dudes, then climbed back up, and hen proceeded to snipe from the top of the ladder. That’s what I did.
