Finally reaching the end of this leg of our journey, we find out why they call it the Dragon Shrine.

I just misread this as “Dark Friends Play Best Souls”
now that, that would be a playthrough.

NEEEEEERRRRD, GONDOLIN BEST CITY
September 30, 2014 at 10:25 pm
What wussy baby nonsense is this? Just because they patched the grower’s ring does not mean you chicken out and do not at least try. I never relied on that but fought him the hard way my first time and then second time went for the easy feet cheese. Throw on a ring of life protection and give it a go, worst that happens is you spend 3k souls getting it repaired. The best outcome would be getting the soul which is extremely useful for the other boss.

that they are also not doing lel gitgud.

*puts on nerd glasses* actually while the length of Sepiroth’s masamune, it being called a washing pole and it’s absurd length is likely more a reference to the blade the ‘Monohoshi Zao’ or laundry drying pole, a katana famous for being near a foot longer than the average katana, used by Miyamoto Musashi’s most famous rival, Sasaki Kojiro. *stands there proudly, prepared to be punched in the face, have his glasses broken, called a nerd, and either pantsed or weggied*
September 30, 2014 at 11:06 pm
Actually though, that’s cool.
October 1, 2014 at 6:16 pm
that’s actually very interesting i forgot about the badass lore of Miyamoto Musashi
…but let’s be honest that katana is totally being used for Sephiroth cosplayer builds
September 30, 2014 at 10:38 pm
I’m always excited to see a new souls vid!!
September 30, 2014 at 10:50 pm
That dragon art statue is the same one from the 1st DLC, but in bigger size. I barely noticed that aha
MInas tirith you filthy casual not tiras minith
but I will forgive you
September 30, 2014 at 11:38 pm
I know they aren’t quite done, but I’m already getting hyped for the DLC!
Speaking of which, I need to stop playing Destiny for a moment so I can play the Crown of the Ivory King! My game time is such a premium…

Fuck I hate when they just sit around in Majula messing around with stats when they can just edit those out in the interest of time. 🙁
October 1, 2014 at 1:48 am
No, they have to leave them in so people can yell at them for not putting one point in to for .
October 1, 2014 at 1:50 am
Oh shit, forgot the greater-than and less-than symbols don’t work on the website if used correctly >.<
"No, they have to leave them in so people can yell at them for not putting one point into [insert stat here] for [insert reason here]."
Fixed it. I hope…
Oh God please read this comment and please, one day, murder the Ancient Dragon, possibly before the fight where you need the Soul of a Giant item(s).
Even if you cut everything out and only leave the successful run, just do it.
Partially because I want Woolie to see how tough it is without a Gower’s Ring of Protection, and also because I did it after the nerf too and got very salty about my ~15 tries before finally succeeding, so I must see others pour salt on themselves to feel better.
Schadenfreude, but shittier.
October 1, 2014 at 12:44 am
wools, two hand that greatsword PAT DON’T KNOW SHIET
October 1, 2014 at 12:47 am
Oh, c’mon guys. Put on the ring of life protection and go fight the ancient dragon, I really want to see Woolie’s reaction to the dragon’s bullshit
October 1, 2014 at 12:55 am
The visuals just keep being awesome. Though, in the back of my mind I wonder how the place was even built way up on top of a desolate mountain, maybe someone item boxed a billion limestone blocks.

I still love how Woolie the Souls Babby thinks that weapons have Powerstance movesets specific to the weapons, and not to the weapon type. It’s cute :3 As if From B would do something like that.
Got my hands on the new DLC today, and BOOOOOOY, was it fun…At least, more fun than Crown of the Old Iron King was for me, and I didn’t even purchase Crown of the Sunken King (and won’t be, as the reward for having all four crowns is sub-par at best…*sigh* :l ). The last boss’ little “fight club” thingy was kind of annoying, and getting the full Loyce set and Soul of _______ (omitted for spoilerinos) is going to be hell (50 Loyce Souls total needed x.x ), but I actually liked him and the other boss I’ve beaten so far (the two mandatory ones). CotOIK’s bosses just felt cheap in NG+ and NG++ (never even beat Smelter 2.0), but Ivory King’s bosses were hard and fair, and I enjoyed that, though I did get super salty when farming the Charred Loyce set (fucking [chest] Armor wouldn’t drop -.- ). The environment though, the vistas of Eleum Loyce (the DLC’s location, great name as well), even more than the first time I saw the outside of Brume Tower, are goddamn beautiful. If ANYONE is debating on whether or not it’s worth it, it is. It fucking is…
The patented Ultra Greatsword Golf Swing Technique®©©™ isn’t actually that bad, Pat. It’s all about timing. Although, I’ve read it’s been nerf’d, so idk about it’s usefulness now.
Lastly, I’m still sticking with the Aldia + possibly Acolytes = Ancient Dragon, although as far as my knowledge goes, Navlaan = Aldia isn’t that far-fetched, and were you saying the Drakes flying around were fake too? Because I kind of doubt that.
October 1, 2014 at 3:40 am
While I agree that the Ancient Dragon is total bullfuck and not in any wa necessary to beat I do hope that Woolie’s gonna tackle some of the optional stuff, like the Abyss covenant and getting ALL the crowns. Just… ignore the Frigid Outskirts when it’s time for the DLC. No decent human being should expect you to go through that.
October 1, 2014 at 9:24 am
You guys should switch to the mace when in close-quarters, I found it very useful. Especially when dealing with guys in full armor
October 1, 2014 at 9:36 am
drakekeeper’s greatshield is a fuckin BOSS.
October 1, 2014 at 9:39 am
the washing pole is based off a legendary swordsman
October 1, 2014 at 12:48 pm
Before Ivory King came out, I would have said that they should do all the DLC, then kill the end boss. Now, I think Ivory King makes a better end to the game. I just hope they do it in the release order.
October 1, 2014 at 5:31 pm
Wow, it’s kind of weird that Woolie went straight to Vendrik instead of the giants. Good guess Wools.
October 1, 2014 at 7:11 pm
I think it’s a similar issue with the Duke’s Dear Freja. I think that he, under the influence of Seath, combined his mind and soul with his favorite spider and went mad, and Aldia, rather than fight the cycle until it broke, sought to escape under its own rules, namely, that Dragons are outside the cycle. Using Giants, who may be created instead of born traditionally, and Dragon bones, along with what he discovered about the curse through his experiments, transcended his flesh and became as close to or exactly like an Ancient Dragon, thereby escaping the curse and the repercussions of the dying flame, living out the rest of eternity being worshiped as a god.
