Shrine of Amana eh? Pfft, sounds like a cakewalk.

Sweet more Woolsworth II
September 17, 2014 at 9:05 pm
God Damint Woolie if you don’t get good your not going to “Rustelmainia” this year!
Instead your going to be giving handjobs like Shawn Michaels/
September 17, 2014 at 9:15 pm
I just bought and upgraded a second greatsword instead of constantly repairing it.
September 18, 2014 at 5:13 am
Wow, that’s a huge waste of time and souls.
September 18, 2014 at 6:29 am
Do you have any idea how big a waste of time, resources, and souls that is?
September 18, 2014 at 11:57 am
Are you two for real? Souls are crazy easy to obtain, and you can buy most resources and farm the rest. I have an item box full of various weapons, shields and armours, some are even doubles for powerstancing.
September 18, 2014 at 10:00 am
@above: That doesn’t fucking matter in PvE.
September 17, 2014 at 9:18 pm
lower your shield though
September 17, 2014 at 9:27 pm
Hearing Woolie sniffle is making my sinuses hurt.
September 17, 2014 at 9:35 pm
Keep your chin up Woolie, you got this!!
September 17, 2014 at 9:39 pm
Lol Woolie gettin’ salty with Pat.
September 18, 2014 at 4:34 am
He has a reason though, Woolie just wants to get through the area the lore and other cool shit he can do later which Patt is trying to make him do now, which Woolie won’t be able to fully appreciate until hes gotten further in the game. I would be salty too.
September 17, 2014 at 10:02 pm
Actually Pat, there should still be at least one dragon left. The Stone Dragon in Dark Souls 1 should still be alive, so it could be what the Archdrake sect worship. Priscilla might also be alive, but I doubt any worshipers would depict her as a dragon. All of this is assuming there’s nothing in DaS2 that proves these two dead. I haven’t gotten that far yet.
September 18, 2014 at 12:47 am
I really don’t think there is anything in Dark II that provides context as to what happened to the Stone Dragon or Priscilla. Nice theory.
Now, that is assuming that Dark II is directly connected to Dark I (which it never will be, in my eyes).
September 18, 2014 at 5:15 am
yeah, it is.
Get the fuck over yourself.
September 18, 2014 at 8:18 am
Yo Mal, calm down. Besides a couple hidden things which unfortunately prove that Drangleic is probably Lordran, I would have liked the two games to have not been directly connected. They could have done way more with it, but didn’t, so it is just worse than Dark Souls.
September 17, 2014 at 10:19 pm
Hey Pat in that spot where that sunlight sword is, is a estus shard as well might want to have woolie get it when possible
September 17, 2014 at 10:38 pm
Yo,yo,yo!!! That Smash demo is sick!!!!
September 17, 2014 at 10:55 pm
That Milfanito girl’s voice sounds like the same voice as Fiora from Xenoblade Chronicles.
September 17, 2014 at 10:59 pm
Woolie should do a blind LP of DS 1 or Demon souls next.
September 17, 2014 at 11:58 pm
I would love to see Woolie take a crack at either game. I remember ages ago he mentioned on the podcast that he wants to play them, and if he does, I def hope he commits to a LP for at least one.
September 17, 2014 at 11:07 pm
Magic-Missile all day, everyday!
September 17, 2014 at 11:42 pm
Hey, remember that crossbow you got? And those TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY bolts? lol
September 18, 2014 at 12:02 am
Woolie you can put on your fire glove which weights 0 and punch em from the side or like I think even just bare-fist buut idk *whoturnedoffda’light!
September 18, 2014 at 12:27 am
past up, a shard, where the sunlight… blade is
September 18, 2014 at 12:36 am
I know this is a cheap way to find out, but the guaranteed way I use to find out if it’s a mimic or not is to try and clip the camera through the chest.
To clarify, if you put the chest directly between the character and the camera, if it is a mimic, it will clip through it and you will still be able to see the chest (If you place the camera inside the chest, you can see the teeth on the inside). If it is a normal chest, the camera will pop in front of the chest only showing your character.
Hope this helps some other crazy Dark Souls players out there if not Pat and Woolie.
September 18, 2014 at 9:58 am
Or you know, you could just punch it once and since it doesn’t break anything in the chest, its a quick and safe way to do it? I don’t know where Pat got his bullshit of items being destroyed if you attack the chest, haha. If you destroy the chest, sure, not if you punch it.
September 18, 2014 at 12:01 pm
You can easily see the teeth from the outside if you look close enough, as well the iron chest mimics have 2 locks on the front of them.
September 18, 2014 at 11:35 pm
Mimic chests have locks on the front. Normal chests don’t. Wooden chest mimics have 1 lock on the front, and I think metal chest mimics have 2.
I used to stand in front of a chest and angle the camera down, then throw a knife at it to see if it was a mimic. But after some experimentation, it appears that chests don’t have HP; instead, whether or not they break is based on HOW MANY TIMES it is hit. Some breakable wooden structures in the game also do this (like the ones near the beginning of the Lost Bastille if you’re coming from the direction of the ship.)
I’ve hit wooden chests with my fully upgraded AND infused Magic Dragon Tooth + 10, and it doesn’t break them in one attack. It seems that 3 attacks break a chest, but I’m not positive. I just know the first attack with anything doesn’t seem to be enough to destroy a chest.
September 18, 2014 at 12:45 am
Yeah, Licia and the Milfanito don’t have the same VA, Woolie. Don’t pull that shit. I mean, they do sound similar, I’ll give you that, but they’re not (they actually don’t sound all that similar to me, but I can still hear a faint resemblance).
(I did an imdb search, so sue me for fact-checking)
Liz May Brice was the VA for Licia (credited as “Liela of Lindeldt”, probably a typo), as well as Milibeth (the young woman who looks after the Firekeepers).
Carina Reeves was the VA for a Milfanito (I’m assuming it’s the one you talk to, but I’m not positive) and Rosabeth (the pyromancer who was petrified). So that’s who you’re probably hearing.
I really want to tell you how checking for Mimics works, but I feel like that’d ruin the possible things to laugh at. Just wait for someone else to ruin it.
Shrine of Amana is one of my most-hated areas. Want to play a cover shooter? No? Too bad. And the goddamn Archdrake Pilgrims…NG++, get to that final group of four (without a Summon), and G FUCKING G. Welcome to Two-Hit-Land, Home of the majestic Bullshit. And that “bobbing and weaving” “bullshit” isn’t really that hard with a torch. Y’know, that one mechanic? That one that should have been implemented way more often? That one that Woolie learned maybe ten minutes before the Sunlight Blade area? Yeah, that one.
Repair Powder’s kind of a waste, in my opinion. When using a Washing Pole or something with 40 & under Durability in PvP, okay, sure, but just grab 1 Attunement slot and Repair (’tis what I do). Or grab a duplicate weapon if need be.
Oh, and nice job being a hypocrite. Calling Pat a player who doesn’t focused on immersion and story (and thus exploration), and then just pretty much telling Pat to piss off when he told you about that bridge. C’mon…”Just let me move forward.” -_- (Maybe hypocrite isn’t the word I’m looking for, but in my defence, I’m tired ^_^ )
Pat, that’s not the Wicked Eye Greatshield, that’s the Tower Shield. She also has the Heide Greatlance as her weapon. And I would use “sis”. Bro usually means brother, as in family, therefore sis would be applicable.
September 18, 2014 at 12:50 am
And someone’s already put the comment pertaining how to find Mimics easily.
Guess that means no Rubbish for Woolsworth II.
September 18, 2014 at 12:46 am
Guys, this isn’t on topic, but D4 was announced to come out tomorrow Sept 18!! Tweet matt and pat so they know. We need to see their reaction to swery’s latest amazing pile of shit!
September 18, 2014 at 2:36 am
Would be easy to use your crossbow against these enemies, and also you guys missed a chess 😀
September 18, 2014 at 5:18 am
“Accidents happen because of balls” Truer words have never been spoken.
September 18, 2014 at 6:52 am
“Accidents are caused by ballz” LMAO!! Great!
September 18, 2014 at 11:51 pm
Woolie, I’m begging you, if you insist on using a shield (and I don’t blame you, it’s viable), then you need to keep it raised ALL THE TIME. The only time you should EVER lower it is when you are regaining stamina. You can run, roll, and attack from having your shield up, so there is no reason not to have it up. Especially when running right into danger! If you’re dodging magic missiles, KEEP IT UP in case you mess up! It’s all about lowering consequences for mistakes!
Using a shield isn’t like parrying (in SF3, I mean). You don’t get any benefit from spot-on timing. If that’s your plan, learn to parry with a regular-sized shield! And that’s…probably not worth it overall, at least not right now, so KEEP YOUR SHIELD UP!
…I have become the anti-Pat…
Also, guys, you’ve reached the part of the game where 3,000 souls is nothing. Take off both the Ring of Restoration AND the Ring of Binding, and put on a Ring of Soul Protection. Then pop an effigy, and spend the game with full life!
