There is a Marine Corp M.P. guarding the tomb of the unknown soldier at all times so anyone dumb enough to desecrate it in anyway would be arrested or if the Marine M.P. was in a good mood the offender would just get shot to keep things quick and simple!

Since I never used the torch since the tutorial, when I came to the Gutter, I LITERALLY FORGOT THE GAME HAD A TORCH MECHANIC.
Going through that place all dark was a terrible experience that I would not recommend to children under the age of 5.

wait…pat didn’t know L-shaped flashlights existed until Silent Hill? Had he never seen a war movie?
September 10, 2014 at 9:51 pm
A lantern that attaches to your belt instead of holding, with limited resources….. YOU MEAN LIKE DRAGONS DOGMA!?
September 10, 2014 at 9:59 pm
Man screw these creepy statues. They have a heartbeat for fucks sake.
September 10, 2014 at 10:10 pm
The Gutter is actually my favorite area in Dark Souls 2. The darkness, the sprawling environment, and just the atmosphere in general is miles above everything else in the game.
September 10, 2014 at 10:15 pm
“You know what would be cool? If instead of a torch, you had a lantern that just stuck to you with limited oil.”
You mean exactly like Dragon’s Dogma? Hey Pat, you should fucking play Dragon’s Dogma!
September 10, 2014 at 10:17 pm
It”s driving me insane with how many great items you guys are walking by, but I guess treasure-hunt souls wouldn’t make for good footage… or would it? Quick tip of the day; you should invest in a quick, light backup weapon like Craftsman’s Hammer which also uses the twinkling titanite you’re not using to upgrade and has that godlike Strike damage-type. Also you have the good roll up to 70% carry weight… Love the playthrough and continue the journey to becoming less shit.

You forgot Giant Dragon Skeleton

I know it is still a ways off, but make sure you use your torch in Shrine of Amana, I would argue that it is the most important place to use a torch since it lets you easily see where the death pits are.

I’m under the impression that Pharros is actually the controlling body in the Rotten. You can see a hollow (Pharros?) sticking out of the Rotten’s left shoulder, and the mass of bodies actually mimics all of their actions.
I believe that Pharros was thrown down the gutter with many other undead by somebody (Vendrick?) trying to slow the spread of the curse.
Hollowed, and losing his purpose, He started doing the only thing that he remembered of his old life – inventing. Building statue after statue, and leaving them throughout the gutter.
Also, if you cut off the Rotten’s arm, a Pharros Lockstone will drop.
His name was Pharros the Vagabond, it only makes sense that he’d live in a shitty sewer.

Also, statues of the same design without the poison element can be found in the doors of Pharros area.

The best Lets play I really look forward to this everyday.

Woolz and Pat. There’s a shortcut in The Gulch that bypasses all the poison statues. And leads you directly to the room with the 2 giants. Take it. Look it up and take it. It’s so easy. And there’s fat loots along the way.
September 11, 2014 at 12:28 pm
All that talk of lanterns made me wonder; when’s Dragon’s Dogma?
September 11, 2014 at 3:00 pm
I like The Gutter >.>

There’s about eight Crystal Lizards in the Dragon Aerie, Pat.
You can also survive the Coal Tar’s (the black hand-like creatures that live in the ignitable pools) grab attacks. I’ve done so numerous times with around 25-29 Vigor. Leaves me with almost no health, but still alive.
