Just slap a Brazzers logo over the Gargoyle fight.
August 16, 2014 at 9:00 pm
woo more dark souls~~
August 16, 2014 at 9:08 pm
That description… This ought’ta be good
August 16, 2014 at 9:46 pm
“you can’t kill a boss with 5 hits” laughtrack.mp4
August 16, 2014 at 9:52 pm
Great episode guys! I’ve never seen the Lost Sinner fight when the rooms lit. Also the video tend to get choppy at times. 720p is unwatchable, 360p is ok but at times it gets moderately choppy audio and video wise, and 160p is good but i want that better sounding audio of the higher p’s. Hope you guys see this and don’t die out there Woolie.
August 17, 2014 at 10:10 pm
How the hell did you beat the Lost Sinner without the fire?
August 18, 2014 at 12:25 am
Stick your face in its butt and slash at its ankles.
August 18, 2014 at 1:48 am
It’s really not that hard if you’re good at dodging. Just focus on dodging his attacks, then attacking him while he recovers from his misses. So it’s basically just countering all his attacks after dodging with an immediate punish.
August 18, 2014 at 12:40 pm
Sticking your face it it’s butt is the solution to EVERY boss in the souls series. Yes, even the Old Iron King.
August 30, 2014 at 2:43 am
Works ok for me
August 17, 2014 at 9:12 pm
Unlike Pat, I’m all for carrying faeces in your pockets while adventuring.
August 17, 2014 at 10:04 pm
Keeps the King of England out of your face.
August 17, 2014 at 9:14 pm
Gotta love Woolie’s nervous laughter.
Also, I wonder if they ever found out that you don’t need the key to get to lost sinner.
August 17, 2014 at 9:24 pm
It lights up the room which makes her easier to target. Otherwise when she jumps around you lose the lock and she stabs you from behind.
August 17, 2014 at 9:25 pm
And no shame in dying in that area.
6 dogs immediately surrounding you at the bottom of a ladder (plus an NPC invander) is pretty bullshit unless you’ve got AoE or wide-arc weapons.
August 17, 2014 at 9:56 pm
Might of helped if he used his sword instead of the mace for that encounter. It’s a quicker weapon which would of let him get the hits he needs instead of being interrupted because of his lack of poise.
August 17, 2014 at 9:23 pm
Vorgel, Woolie? Really? Ace the Gargoyles and then lose to one of the easiest NPC invaders in the game?
August 17, 2014 at 9:58 pm
He lost to six dogs and an NPC invader; that area is bullshit
August 18, 2014 at 12:28 am
First time he died it was only Vorgel. He had a 100% physical block shield. Does not compute.
That backstab was brutal though.
August 18, 2014 at 12:43 pm
On its own sure, but when you have to deal with 6 dogs and its your first time there hes a bastard to kill. I would say Merciless Roenna at the Huntsmans Copse is the easiest (as long as you don’t roll off the cliff like a scrub)
Yeah, go Woolie! Sinner is cakewalk compared to gargoyles.
August 18, 2014 at 12:44 pm
I still can’t believe he pulled that off. First time Souls player as melee, first attempt, not even level 100 yet.
August 17, 2014 at 9:26 pm
I’ve become very aware of Pat’s “you know what i mean” I’m not sure if I hate it or love it. YouknowwatImean?
August 17, 2014 at 9:30 pm
Loving this series
Going into this, I totally thought that video description was not going to be in Woolie’s favor. Go figure, he doesn’t even break a sweat in that fight.
August 17, 2014 at 9:51 pm
funniest thing, i saw this yesterday then it disappeared.
August 17, 2014 at 9:53 pm
I really hope you guys do a let’s play of Dark Souls 1, would prefer to see Pat at the helm using any sort of melee build just to see how well he can actually play.
August 17, 2014 at 10:06 pm
If it’s anything like the RE4 vids he’s shit and just talks big
August 17, 2014 at 10:13 pm
I get what you’re saying. But, seriously, try carrying on a conversation and playing a game. It isn’t easy.
I think for any DS LPs they need a co-pilot. Because whoever is at the helm will get to a point where they need to concentrate, and then the other person can fill that space.
August 18, 2014 at 12:27 am
That’s why it would be fun to watch.
August 17, 2014 at 9:54 pm
Did Pat just casually call Woolie ‘mongo’?
August 17, 2014 at 11:45 pm
Well, Woolie is “just pawn in game of life”
August 17, 2014 at 9:59 pm
At the beginning and end of the vids I just cant stop seeing Dark Souls H lol……… Great Vids as always
August 17, 2014 at 10:09 pm
I gotta disagree a little. I think the idea of having to patiently approach a boss is interesting, and pushes more towards skill which is good. But most bosses have patterns that let you attack once, then go back on the defensive. Which, to me, is just not fun at all. Especially with multi-character bosses, where you might have to be on the defensive for some time. Only to be rewarded with an opening wide enough for a single attack.
I’d prefer a system where I can lay in at least a few hits. Because by the time I got to the end of DS2 I was getting real sick of my first attack animations.
Basically most boss fights in DS2, to me, felt like the Monty Python fish slapping dance.
I like how Pat casually forgets the fuckton of dragons that existed before the first flame, and salty seath.
August 17, 2014 at 10:12 pm
Gonna try this shit tomorrow
August 17, 2014 at 10:15 pm
I counted 5 “know what I mean/saying”s
August 17, 2014 at 10:22 pm
Woolie the Liar stole my Souls.
August 17, 2014 at 10:26 pm
Pat what are talking about, I roll agsnist every Sinner attack. It telegraphs every attack.
August 17, 2014 at 10:34 pm
Hey Pat, I’m pretty sure NPC invaders never drop anything ever. It feels like a bit of an oversight honestly.
August 18, 2014 at 12:30 am
They have rare drops.
August 17, 2014 at 10:36 pm
“It doesn’t matter if you die if you get the item! That’s what I meant, you know what I mean?”
August 17, 2014 at 10:42 pm
Okay so what was cut out from when they uploaded this the first time?
August 17, 2014 at 10:59 pm
I may have not known that you can light torches for the lost sinner but I do remember that you could have summoned lucatiel to help. Meaning Woolie either has to give up on her quest or fight the smelter demon with her. Either way good luck you crazy fucks.
August 17, 2014 at 11:26 pm
You can summon her for Flexile Sentry, Lost Sinner, Smelter Demon, and The Rotten. Her quests only requires her to be summoned and survive three of the four fights, so he’s still perfectly fine. I always just summon her for Flexile, Smelter, and Rotten as a meat shield, and complete her quest when I hit Aldia’s Keep on every playthrough.
August 17, 2014 at 11:05 pm
When Pat mentioned the Pyromancy witch i thought he was talking about Quelana and Salaman. I just past that area of Dark Soul 1
August 17, 2014 at 11:11 pm
Man Woolie was doing GARBAGE against the Dogs and Invader.
August 17, 2014 at 11:12 pm
Are the dogs not distracted by the alluring skull (which Pat seems to think is useless)?
August 17, 2014 at 11:56 pm
only works on undead enemies
August 17, 2014 at 11:16 pm
This display has me confused, as everything is backwards from when I did it. The gargoyles were assholes, as all I had was a sword and bow. The dogs and the invader were nothing to me, as I slaughtered the dogs quick enough to deal with the guy comfortably. As for the sinner, I took it on in the darkness, but I get the knowledge of bosses by helping other people first, and then fight it.
August 17, 2014 at 11:31 pm
1 minute in and we have our first YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?
Old habits die hard, I guess.
August 17, 2014 at 11:50 pm
Woolie owns the Gargoyle’s, but has a hard time killing the dogs haha
August 18, 2014 at 12:11 am
Would be awesome if you guys did an LP of DkS1 😀
August 18, 2014 at 12:16 am
Just a heads up. They put up a trailer for a Machinima video on the youtube channel.
Probably aren’t allowed to post it here for legal reasons.
August 18, 2014 at 12:18 am
Not for nothing ever since Pat stop mentioning the shield, it is all I see now.
August 18, 2014 at 12:47 am
I was building toward strength my first time through. I went to the Lost Sinner before getting the Bastille Key, so I didn’t even know about lighting the torches (I did before watching this video, but I didn’t know about it when I was playing for the first time.)
I was using a greatshield, though, and I think the Drangleic Sword and an estoc. That shield is how I won; my stamina loss for each blow was so trivial, it was relatively easy to just lame the fight out.
Speaking of estocs, though, Woolie has expressed a couple of times now that he likes thrusting swords. Why not use an estoc or a rapier, Woolie? The estoc, in particular, has a great moveset (thrusting and slashing), range, speed, and decent enough power to remain useful against at least regular enemies, and you can buy it cheap from the smith in Majula. It’d be a great compliment to your mace, IMO.
One thing I would point out about the gripe that many bosses are just sword wielding giants, is that fighting non humonoid giant creatures, or rather the way you fight them, can be super immersion breaking. Fighting a dragon would be way cooler if I wasn’t just wailing on his big toe the entire fight. Furthur more, if there were more non humonoid fights, we would just complain how generic the monsters are.
August 18, 2014 at 1:11 am
Really though dark souls 1 was mostly variants of a big dude with a big weapon, or at least a big demon with a big weapon. At least they didn’t make us fight the same boss fight three times, I’m looking at you asylum demon, stray demon and demon firesage.
August 18, 2014 at 12:58 am
I would totally be down for Woolsworth in DS1
August 18, 2014 at 1:24 am
Holy yes play Dark Souls 1! I’m gonna die when this series is over! I adore this series.
August 18, 2014 at 1:46 am
You guys forgot to get Lucatiel, guess you need to use her for the Rotten and Smelter Demon now. Or use astetics.
August 18, 2014 at 3:07 am
Don’t kid yourself, Pat. Dark II’s Gargoyles are a joke.
August 18, 2014 at 3:22 am
Also, Lost Sinner’s a joke now. Maybe it was extremely hard pre-patch without the lighting, but yeah…
August 18, 2014 at 12:46 pm
I don’t think fighting 3 guys at once is ever a joke.
August 18, 2014 at 4:37 am
well fuck me.. let’s just say i had trouble with the sinner.. stupid torch.
August 18, 2014 at 8:07 am
As someone who has played (butnotfinnishedpleaseforgiveme) Dark Souls 1 and not yet played Dark Souls 2, the second the Gargoyle fight started I could have sworn it was the exact same fight. Even the place you fight in looks a lot like that. Of course the diferences become aparent after a while, but I thought that was a nice touch.
I’m off to finish DS1 now before Pat yells at me. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT!? I ALREADY PLAYED THROUGH PERSONA 3 AND PERSONA 4 FOR YOU! THEY WERE AWESOME! I PLAYED A SECOND CYCLE BOTH TIMES! GOD DAMN YOU, YOU MAGNIFICENT GINGER BASTARD!!
August 18, 2014 at 8:15 am
I really hope this massive increase in pace isn’t something that’s gonna continue. I’m not gonna be able to watch this when they get to the DLC before all of it is out in September, since I want to play them all at once and blind.
August 18, 2014 at 11:07 am
Shoulda used a seed of giants on that spear phantom.
August 18, 2014 at 2:56 pm
Pat, don´t tease us so much with Dark Souls 1.
If you mention it anymore, Woolie has to play it. In fact he should play it, with you as his helping Navi.
I´d watch the shit out of you two playing DS1.
August 18, 2014 at 9:59 pm
I would rather watch a series of Woolie being Matt’s coach.
August 18, 2014 at 5:45 pm
lp asuras wrath
August 18, 2014 at 9:16 pm
You nerds better do an LP of Dark Souls 1 and show these dweebs how a good Souls game rolls.
August 20, 2014 at 1:47 pm
Saying he is doing good is a bit much, he is laming it out on every enemy.
August 24, 2014 at 1:19 pm
I would have slapped a Brazzers logo on the Vorgel fight.
Dragon kick em
