August 3, 2014 at 9:35 pm
Praise the Sun fused didn’t make it here.
August 3, 2014 at 9:36 pm
hahah jesus christ, if woolie’s this scared of the Wharf docks, The Pit’s gonna make this a thousand part series
August 4, 2014 at 8:45 am
You mean the Gutter? Yeah, that should make Woolie drop a load and a half!
August 3, 2014 at 9:42 pm
I cannot wait for the inevitable video where the patch is implemented and all the lightning is now utter shit-trash.
August 4, 2014 at 8:46 am
-75% uses and -25% damage, yeah. And -65% uses for Emit Force, so his entire offensive spell list will be screwed!
August 3, 2014 at 9:52 pm
remember the first time you went through no man’s warf and you got to the boat, and got fucking gangbanged by those two wall hanging cock suckers when they came up behind you while you were trying to draw the boat guys out to the dock?
and remember how fucking pissed off you were about it?
August 4, 2014 at 6:35 am
No I don’t because I took care of it.
August 4, 2014 at 8:48 am
Nope, because I’d lock on to those guys while they were still pulling themselves up, and the moment they were on their feet, wham! 1 shot, and into the deep they go!
August 3, 2014 at 9:54 pm
“you need to be human”
“you should use a small summoned sign” Pat should have advised because free humanity. Oh well, hype is still maintained by the crash course in learning the crawling dude’s agro mode :b
August 3, 2014 at 10:00 pm
Luca is so fucking cool man. I make sure to do her quest every time. Just ugh. So cool.
August 3, 2014 at 10:12 pm
I’ve ran through the game twice with a sorcery build and have only run low/out of spells before a boss once or twice. Its really easy to manage your spells if you’re just smart about it. We don’t get the lightning spear though which sucks
August 4, 2014 at 8:51 am
No, after the latest patch, Lightning Spear, Sunlight Spear, and Emit Force (the main ranged offense spells for faith builds) absolutely blow! Their # of uses was reduced by 60-75% (3 Lightning Spears instead of 11, for instance), and -25% damage. It’s as if From Software threw out a giant Fuck You to all faith builds everywhere!
August 3, 2014 at 10:24 pm
Realising the Crestfallen guy is Welsh and even speaks Welsh is suuuuper weird to hear in the Dark Souls universe!! Representin’
August 3, 2014 at 10:29 pm
August 3, 2014 at 10:33 pm
So is the impossible space there on purpose? The Souls Series always seems to pay so much attention to the details that it would be weird if it weren’t on purpose. But if so…why? Welp, guess I’ll just sit here and wait for Pat sensei’s gooey white knowledge.
August 4, 2014 at 2:22 am
Dark Souls 2 has a different director than the first two Souls games, who might’ve been a bit more of a push-over when it comes to reining in his (much larger) team. Like when a designer comes and goes “I have this rad idea for an area!”, the old director probably went “Does it fully integrate into what we have so far? If not, fuck off.” and the new one was more like “Alright, that does seem rad. Let’s just put it in and fix it later. Oh shit, that didn’t work, let’s just put some textures in the distance and act like it does.”
August 4, 2014 at 6:42 am
It’s not necessarily on purpose. It could just be because the team had different priorities than internal consistency. For instance the online interactions. And with the knowledge that Bloodborne is supposed to release early next year both games had to be in development at roughly the same time plus the fact that Hidetaka Miyazaki is the director of Bloodborne tells me that there wasn’t the same amount of focus placed on the “smaller” aspects.
August 3, 2014 at 10:39 pm
Varangians are not pirates their vikings, Pat.
August 3, 2014 at 10:48 pm
There’s an argument to be made here.
August 4, 2014 at 6:43 am
They’re viking pirates.
August 4, 2014 at 8:53 am
They’re fake vikings, at that. Real vikings did not have horns on their helms.
August 3, 2014 at 10:51 pm
Up your strength so you can get 100 percent block shield
August 4, 2014 at 12:15 am
They already have a 100% block shield, Pat said it was garbage and they shoved it in the item box :S
August 3, 2014 at 10:55 pm
Man, Woolie. You made that mobile sentry your bitch.
August 3, 2014 at 11:50 pm
It’s really distracting how much Woolie’s character looks like a carrot to me.
August 4, 2014 at 12:28 am
I dreamed a dream the other night.
Lowlands, lowlands away me John.
My love she came, dressed all in white.
August 4, 2014 at 12:31 am
What do you do with a drunken Woolie?
What do you do with a drunken Woolie?
What do you do with a drunken Woolie?
Early in the morning
August 4, 2014 at 12:59 am
I’m sure this has been already said…
BUT I should buy a boat.
August 4, 2014 at 1:16 am
Lonely island reference yeahhh
August 4, 2014 at 1:52 am
fuck i think i cant watch this lets play anymore the stuff Pat says just rubs me the wrong way
August 4, 2014 at 2:03 am
I was reminded of the ending of The Goonies personally.
August 4, 2014 at 2:50 am
At first, I thought there was an item I’ve never seen before hidden under the floorboards on the right at 3:44. But I think it’s just from the second enemy he killed in that room; the enemy dropped his item on death, but it fell through the floor.
I’m on such high alert for secrets in this game…
August 4, 2014 at 2:56 am
You can buy as many repair powders as you need in Drangleic Castle…
August 4, 2014 at 3:45 am
I find it funny to picture Pat as danny devito satyr following Woolie around dispensing advice without ever actually helping.
August 4, 2014 at 7:33 am
Love the Philoctetes reference. The 90’s ruled.
August 4, 2014 at 3:51 am
They missed the secret door in No Man’s Wharf
August 4, 2014 at 8:55 am
They missed both secret doors, the one that you open with A (or X on the PS controller), and the one with the titanite lizard that you smash open. I could hear the lizard’s twinkling last episode! I was sooooo annoyed that they missed it!
August 4, 2014 at 5:01 am
It’s sad that the faith build was nerfed with the update, its almost pointless to play faith now…
August 4, 2014 at 8:56 am
Yep. Only make them for the heals and the starter mace, now. Other than that, go with a pure melee build.
August 4, 2014 at 7:17 am
I always wondered how people have so much trouble keeping Lucatiel alive. NPC phantoms have a shitload of HP. Is just everyone playing like Woolie when they’ve got summons in and just sit back and watch?
August 4, 2014 at 11:12 am
Yeah they’re really tanky and hard for bosses to kill, mostly they seem to die from their own poor shoe traction. Lucatiel fell off the bridge in Sinner’s Rise for me because she was wearing shoes with butter soles.
October 5, 2014 at 7:15 pm
In the previous calibration, which is what I suspect Pat played, NPCs had much lower HP. With the version they’re playing, NPC health was tripled, but Pat is an idiot and assumes much.
August 4, 2014 at 7:30 am
I’m starting to realize I have no reason to go back to youtube anymore.
August 4, 2014 at 10:40 am
Lucatiel is a dumb pather. I got through all of Sinner’s Rise using her help, until the bridge, where I paused to take in the beautiful cave, and she clipped on me on the bridge, and fell to her retarded death.
RIP you slippery shoed dumb ass.
August 4, 2014 at 12:53 pm
How is pyromancy bullshit? I’m just thinking about making a pyromancy build and wondering what they’re talking about.
August 4, 2014 at 1:21 pm
Pyromancy in Dark Souls 1 didn’t need any stat investment and most of it was actually better than many other magic spells. So you could make a tanky brawler build and still dish out ridiculous spell damage. They fixed that in 2. I don’t know why Pat is hating on it. Maybe some bad memories involving a pyro-wielding invader.
August 4, 2014 at 2:19 pm
fair enough, so a pyro build in ds2 is still fun and potentially viable?
October 5, 2014 at 7:13 pm
It is, The_Tron, but it comes with a REALLY painfully slow casting time, and there are a lot of situations in which fire spells take a nasty hit (lots of fire resistant enemies, a whole DLC built around fire and most mobs in its being resistant to fire, rain weakens fire damage, water weakens fire damage, etc)
August 4, 2014 at 1:09 pm
Fun fact: The greatest increase in roll distance comes with a <50% equip load. If they aren't going to stay below that limit then they might as well just wear whatever they want up until 70%. After 70% equip load they'll have the "slow" roll. The SPEED of the roll isn't changed until this limit is reached. And equip load has nothing to so with your invincibility frames (aka the time a swing cannot hit you while rolling).
So they should either
1) Stay below 50% equip for increased dodge distance.
2) Equip whatever they can without breaking the 70% barrier.
August 4, 2014 at 1:46 pm
I actually have never had Luciteil die at the Smelter Demon….But whatever she is your damn TANK (imo), 🙂
August 4, 2014 at 1:53 pm
Actually these Guys Start Raging Out when forced into a Corner or with no way to go but into light and yeah, then they dont give a fuck about anything anymore
August 4, 2014 at 3:09 pm
This is my favorite playthrough so far.
August 4, 2014 at 5:59 pm
Fuck your stupid Dreads Woolie! Wear the pimp hat!
August 4, 2014 at 6:00 pm
August 4, 2014 at 6:46 pm
August 4, 2014 at 6:55 pm
lp asuras wrath
August 5, 2014 at 11:52 am
I love this playthrough. Though I don’t know what is going to happen after the patch nerfs the shit out of Woolies spears……
August 5, 2014 at 4:43 pm
Lucatiel reminds me of Yoshitaka Amano art
August 5, 2014 at 10:06 pm
thank god the Lightning Spears got nerfed. That shit was so OP, it even carried DSP through the game
August 6, 2014 at 2:15 pm
But now they’re too bad though. Stuff got nerfed way more than was necessary
August 6, 2014 at 9:28 am
Pat thinks he knows everything, but the idea that sorcs. run out of spells quickly is bs. I can whoop a boss with spells and have more for going father into the level.
