Ayyy guuurrrrl. I’m feeling that hat.
Dat mask tho
July 31, 2014 at 3:01 pm
Anyone else doing a playthrough of dark souls along side the lp?
July 31, 2014 at 3:06 pm
I am too!! my first time in any souls game
July 31, 2014 at 3:22 pm
So how are you doing? WHat built and how many deaths (go to the monument in offline mode to see)?
July 31, 2014 at 3:14 pm
The first dark souls… I don’t own the second
August 1, 2014 at 8:20 pm
Same here. I’m enjoying it immensely. Dying is fun! 😀
July 31, 2014 at 3:31 pm
I did, i watched parts 1-10 and i manage to kill Lost Sinner, open up all 3 of the other path options and get about half way through all 3 paths.
This LP is reeeeally slow.
July 31, 2014 at 3:42 pm
Hell yes. Though I have to say I did my first run with a similar cleric and my god, was it easy. Reached the final boss with that stupid mace and starting robe.
Was I more stupid, or were the earlier games just way harder?
July 31, 2014 at 4:43 pm
As someone who’s been playing demon’s dark 1 alongside these vids, it’s a combination of the old games being harder but also at times because they were stupid and had some real bullshit in there along with the hardness.
July 31, 2014 at 3:52 pm
Stuck on Ornstein&Smough in DS1, aggrivated to death by executioners chariot on DS2
July 31, 2014 at 4:26 pm
Executioners Chariot is easy once you use the lever of the stage, you just have to be careful and hide and then kill those mage bitches and be careful of the skeletons, after you beat the mages the Executioner will take care of the rest of the skeletons left.
After pulling the lever just stay away from the boss and use spells/miracles/long ranged atacks on it, just be careful when dark fog comes out of its mouth, that means he will trhrow dark louds at you that deal dark magic damage.
August 1, 2014 at 2:40 pm
If you are comfortable with rolling, you can roll through the chariots wheel spikes. Makes getting to the lever / skeleton mages easier. .
July 31, 2014 at 3:57 pm
Yeah, even built a build that was based on the one that Pat and Woolie were working towards. …The patch fucked things up. ; w; But at least now I can wield some good weapons.
July 31, 2014 at 4:17 pm
I am but I’m a bit farther than them
July 31, 2014 at 4:19 pm
PLaying for the first time with a Cleric too, just defeated the Lost Sinner, feels good man.
July 31, 2014 at 4:41 pm
Already beaten DS2 twice since they started
I really can’t wait until they get to some of the actually hard stuff, I want to see how well Woolie handles it
I also hope they do the dlc stuff, that area is a bitch
July 31, 2014 at 4:59 pm
I am. Only got the game a couple of days ago, imagine my surprise when I get the Lightning Spear miracle and see that it only has 3 casts….
Thank god for pyromancy to pick up the slack though.
July 31, 2014 at 5:23 pm
I am aswell and a total noob to the souls game! Watching this helps me not to forget treasures and NPCs i wouldve missed otherwise
July 31, 2014 at 5:47 pm
I am, started with an identical build and learned a lot but then quickly outlearned Pat and am now getting bummed by his misinformation and thanking god for Soul Vessels.
July 31, 2014 at 5:48 pm
The desire is there but I have yet to start another one.
July 31, 2014 at 6:05 pm
i bought it because of this play through, and yeah this is real slow lp.
two uploaded a day would be more like it.
July 31, 2014 at 6:08 pm
I’m doing that, but I’m being that douche who plays a faith build as well to see how much faster I can get it done than them. Killed Dragonrider, Old Dragonslayer, Last Giant and the pursuer in under an hour 😛
July 31, 2014 at 7:09 pm
Yup, I bought the game when they were fighting the old dragonslayer. In a day I was caught up to them, and now I’m way past them to the point where I’m tempted to start a new magic using character just to be closer to where they are.
August 1, 2014 at 12:10 am
Yes but I have to slow down a lot to keep the same pace. (Not bragging it’s more because of the breaks between videos :P)
August 1, 2014 at 10:22 am
i start when the game came out, had a month break and returned about two weeks ago, i am 40hours on, and just reach the drangleic castle, it is my first playthrough so I am looking everything, smelling the flowers looking my reflection in the river, fun stuff. runing a rolling dual rapier – estoc build no magic-miracle. I can turn into robin hood mode two, just for fun.
August 1, 2014 at 10:37 am
It inspired me to start playing again. Made a Dual-Pike guy, starting as a Swordsman. Gonna reroll as Cleric because that heal is too stronk early game to pass up.
August 2, 2014 at 2:02 pm
Apparently Plague of Gripes is doing a simultaneous one to try to find Pat and Woolie.
August 2, 2014 at 3:21 pm
I kind of am, but its more a playthrough for the dlc in NG.
I think woolie’s playthrough will be interesting because the DLC is all coming out as they do it. (And since they only record for a few hours a couple times a week at most it seems, they’ll probably be hitting iron keep long after iron crown is out, and same for ivory crown)
July 31, 2014 at 3:12 pm
PAT”S PRO TIPS!
July 31, 2014 at 3:21 pm
Watching these always makes me want to go and play this game right after
July 31, 2014 at 3:24 pm
Yo Woolie why you carrying a giant pancake around use in it like a shield and such?
P.S. Pat I’ve been thinking that your STAND should be Solaire.
July 31, 2014 at 3:28 pm
Stream the last episode of the DarkSouls2 playthrough please.
July 31, 2014 at 3:34 pm
July 31, 2014 at 3:35 pm
How many times is Pat going to say “you know what I mean” in this playthrough.
July 31, 2014 at 5:59 pm
I don’t know what you mean, you know what I mean?
Woolie starting to fight back Pat’s totalitarian command of this LP
July 31, 2014 at 3:44 pm
should have gotten the ring
July 31, 2014 at 3:49 pm
This lp reminds me of my buddy showimg me the popes in dark souls 1. Pushy, controlling, and constantly trying to get me to play his style. Had a much easier and fun time once I started getting my own feel for it.
July 31, 2014 at 3:53 pm
what pc controller do you use pat? and whould you recommend it?
July 31, 2014 at 4:15 pm
I really hope they don’t end up skipping the ring….
July 31, 2014 at 4:18 pm
Now to wait for the next episode so they can show what happens when you go on the boat
July 31, 2014 at 4:29 pm
The fucking first time i got on the boat they destroyed me, fuck that boat.
July 31, 2014 at 4:20 pm
lp asuras wrath
July 31, 2014 at 4:28 pm
more like azuras crap
July 31, 2014 at 7:15 pm
Zach will LP that, don’t worry.
I demand a counter showing how many times Pat has said “You know what I mean?” in this LP
July 31, 2014 at 5:15 pm
if it was a drinking game you would be dead a while ago from alcohol poisoning
July 31, 2014 at 4:37 pm
I hear Pat saying brazier and always think brassiere instead.
“Its this giant brassiere that lights the whole zone.” is a very amusing mental image.
August 1, 2014 at 7:05 pm
Gwynevere joke goes here.
July 31, 2014 at 4:38 pm
Woolie can be ruled by no man, especially not a little baby like pat
you can backstab while blocking
Yup, i dont know where pat got that shit from, you can totally backstab while blocking.
July 31, 2014 at 4:46 pm
Lucatiel’s Armor and sword can be obtained by talking to her in all of her locations (Of which there are 5) and before talking to her in the final location, summoning her for three bosses and having her survive all of them. She can summon in for four different bosses, and you can also use Bonfire Ascetics to gain wins as well. Benhart’s quest works the exact same way, but he doesn’t disappear if you talk to him at his final location, whereas Lucatiel does.
July 31, 2014 at 5:03 pm
I’ve watched almost every video 2bf has ever done and I gotta say this is the first LP where one of them is really annoying me. Pat just won’t stop telling Woolie step by step exactly what to do, screwing up half the info and saying “know what I mean” every 2 seconds
Still enjoying it, I just hope he chills out later when Woolie starts getting the hang of it
July 31, 2014 at 5:13 pm
Did Woolie just killed a bunch of Skyrim guys?! also Pat finally learnt what it was to watch him play Last of Us and RE4
July 31, 2014 at 5:30 pm
Lucatiel is the best champion of Clavicus Vile!
July 31, 2014 at 5:34 pm
I wonder if Woolie is playing bad on purpose. For a learning experience. I wonder when these videos were actually recorded (that’s the key). It seems like Woolie doesn’t grasp even the BASICS of DS. I’m enjoying the play through none the less.
July 31, 2014 at 5:41 pm
You know what I mean?
July 31, 2014 at 5:49 pm
Come on Woolie. You are Luke, Pat is Obi Wan. Hes teaching you the ways of the force. Listen!
Woolie for fuck sake use your heal miricale you keep wasting Estus and Life Gems.
July 31, 2014 at 6:12 pm
Is there anyone else who’s deeply bothered by Woolie’s playstyle because it’s so slow and riskless? I guess it’s just because I play so aggressively, but I don’t know. It’s just so boring to watch after a while :\
July 31, 2014 at 6:24 pm
I know what you mean Pat. I know what you mean.
July 31, 2014 at 6:33 pm
You guys GOTTA play trough the DLCs. pluz m8 pluz! :>
July 31, 2014 at 6:43 pm
In DND you have a DM guiding you through the story, giving you exposition and lore about your location and the people you meet. Thats the opposite of DS.
You also have skill challenges where you need to think outside the box to figure out solutions to problems. It’s not really possible in a video game.
You can talk to people to gain additional information or find different ways to complete quests.
IMO Skyrim comes much closer to being like DND than Dark Souls. Dark Souls just nails the atmosphere of a creepy dungeon.
July 31, 2014 at 6:45 pm
I am waiting for a boss fight where woolie uses a summoning sign instead flask/lifegem 😀
July 31, 2014 at 6:54 pm
July 31, 2014 at 6:57 pm
Drop yo fucking shiield!..
July 31, 2014 at 7:21 pm
For fucks sake get that damn item behind the bookshelf!!
It was even in your view for 3 fucking seconds god damn it!!!
July 31, 2014 at 7:33 pm
Pat if I remember correctly the blacksmith hammer has like 10 more phisical damage ,so if you want MAKE WOLLIE THOR!!
July 31, 2014 at 8:00 pm
Pats constant nagging is so annoying!
July 31, 2014 at 8:02 pm
never listen to pat
July 31, 2014 at 8:27 pm
Woolie: “Do you get her hat if you kill her?”
Pat: “Lucatiel’s cool!” 😀
July 31, 2014 at 8:35 pm
Oh man, this is more painful than Nuzlocke because it’s all my mistakes being replicated in painful clarity. “Damn need to heal, let me just pop a gem and.. FUCK I USED AN ESTUS!”
July 31, 2014 at 9:24 pm
These episodes need a “You know what I mean?” counter
July 31, 2014 at 9:27 pm
That Woolie kid’s gettin’ cocky, usin’ items without lookin’ an’ fightin’ near ledges! Damn kids!
July 31, 2014 at 11:09 pm
I’m taking a sip of Beer everytime either Pat or Woolie say “You know what I mean?”… unfortunately, I only have a six pack here.
July 31, 2014 at 11:45 pm
August 1, 2014 at 3:09 am
But the brazier makes the bandersnatch things fuck off tho
August 1, 2014 at 3:25 am
C’mon dude, eleven videos in I think its about time to let him play how he’s gonna play and just let him know on occasion how he could do better.
The great thing about these games is making how YOU want to play WORK. Seeing how somebody else plays in their own way instead of the ‘perfect’ or ‘correct’ way is much more fun for someone who has already beaten it, and could be a learning experience.
August 1, 2014 at 3:38 am
I really don’t feel as if there is a ‘correct’ way to play these games. There’s obviously right and wrong things to do in certain situations but, stuff like dropping the shield? It isn’t entirely necessary EVERY single time to manage your stamina, and I feel its more important to manage your spacing in tandem with your surroundings in case you actually NEED to block the next few hits. And I can think of plenty of times where either taking the hit or taking the block pushed the situation further in my favor. Again it all depends on your playstyle, your awareness of the physical and stamina damage being inflicted, and your ability to think two or three steps ahead.
August 1, 2014 at 3:44 am
>pushed the situation further in my favor.
Gave me greater control over the situation, I mean, because again, thinking a few steps ahead, maybe taking that hit meant after the attack animation I could get away and rolling was more risky, or maybe taking the block meant staggering them and leaving them open when I really needed them dead, etc. You should be more reliant on your adaptability instead of assuming that A action will always lead to B result.
August 1, 2014 at 3:30 am
god damn it pat, get on GoT NOW, FUCKING NOW! XD
August 1, 2014 at 3:31 am
Its painful watching woolie eat so much shit. But I didnt do much better my first time through the Wharf.
August 1, 2014 at 4:05 am
Pat! it is Brazier not Brassiere, don’t light the holders of boobs on fire.
August 1, 2014 at 5:31 am
*woolie gets hit*
pat: there you go
August 1, 2014 at 6:39 am
I dont know what i did wrong, but im running exactly same build AND i have only 3 lightning spears and 4 emit force. what the hell?
August 1, 2014 at 1:00 pm
The update shaved off a lot of spell uses for miracles.
I went from 27 Great Lightning Spears to 9. You can imagine how salty I am.
August 1, 2014 at 7:47 am
Oh, wow, you can really hear that creaking, I didn’t notice it until now
August 1, 2014 at 9:44 am
Pat, I know you’re on Crack [all the time], but you gotta stop tell Woolie what to do. Especially contradictory stuff. C’mon maaaaaaaan. It’s not exactly fiiiine.
Ah, who am I kidding, it’s fucking hilarious.
August 1, 2014 at 10:38 am
You can use spells close range its fine pats just being crazy
August 1, 2014 at 10:47 am
Lookit dis guy, woolie. Throwin sonic booms n’ lightning and shit
August 1, 2014 at 11:52 am
I think what Pat said is true, this series does feel the like the closest visual experience to D&D.
August 1, 2014 at 7:09 pm
I’d say Dragon’s Dogma is fair bit closer.
August 2, 2014 at 2:04 pm
I’ll second that. It feels very D&D, with the dungeons, the traps, the diverse amount of monsters, etc.
August 1, 2014 at 4:37 pm
Woolie’s getting cocky.
August 1, 2014 at 4:53 pm
Oh man, Woolies cautious gameplay style is getting really fucking annoying considering mine is the complete opposite. I keep yelling ‘JUST FUCKING GO’ when he backs down… Though I am playing a full strength character and I know it’s completely unreasonable. It still pisses me off. Just like the fact that he hasn’t learnt to put his goddamn shield down yet
August 2, 2014 at 6:11 pm
I get annoyed when he attacks at JUST the wrong time, and ends up getting hit.
I usually avoid one hit, and mash RB.
August 1, 2014 at 9:46 pm
See what Pat means?
August 1, 2014 at 10:35 pm
August 2, 2014 at 12:57 am
August 2, 2014 at 1:53 pm
I swear, the episode description sounds like song lyrics.
” ‘Ayyyy girl, I’m feelin’ that hat. Dat mask, dat ass, I wanna get me some of that.”
August 2, 2014 at 8:49 pm
I screamed at you about the Ring of Life Protection guys! Y U NO break bookcase and get it!?
August 2, 2014 at 10:23 pm
Damn, I want Pat a my Dark Coach….
August 3, 2014 at 2:49 am
This was one of my least favorite areas in the game, don’t know why. It’s not bad, but it just didn’t appeal to me somehow.
August 4, 2014 at 9:12 pm
When Pat says: “Do you know what I mean?” ~ Just Lp things
August 24, 2014 at 1:03 am
Lucatiel’s the best. Too bad her A.I. sucks.
October 7, 2014 at 1:31 pm
i hated this whole area…
